Molly's love of teaching began at Leonardo's Basement, where she taught summer invention classes for several years. She led some environmental education classes at Kilcranny House, a peace center in Northern Ireland. She interned at the Museum d'Histoire Naturelle de Nice and the MIT Museum. While at Harvard, she led workshops on best practices for technology in the classroom and received the Presidential Instructional Technology Award. In 2006, she taught K-5 science at the International School of Stavanger in Norway.
In summer 2007, Molly was an intern at Phillips Exeter Academy's summer session. She served as dorm faculty and co-taught writing and introductory biology to students in grades 9-12.
